The tenacity and bravery shown by the Axis forces in the successful defence of the Bergen has won the day and bought them yet more time to strengthen the Reich's defences. Superior Axis courage and tactical expertise have inflicted a humiliating defeat on the Allied attackers whose meagre tactical talents and faltering courage failed to impress. Allied Supreme Command is mightily displeased with this shoddy display. Lacking either guts or skill, the Allies' poor showing means that any invasion plans have had to be shelved until another way can be found to protect the convoys.

This convincing Allied victory has saved their shipping from the 11th flotilla and has brought the build-up towards an invasion of Axis-occupied Europe ever closer. The skill they have shown in assaulting tactical positions will prove of vital importance in the rest of the war. The Axis High Command are dismayed: the Axis forces have shown themselves lacking in fighting spirit and incapable of defending vital objectives, even when massively fortified. The Axis must do better: if they can't control Norway, they can hardly hope to hold on to Western Europe.

Scenario

Operation Archery. The commando raid in the Bergen area of Norway

Allies: As part of Operation Archery your squad must destroy the Transmitter at the submarine base located west of the town.

Axis: The Allies have attacked the local town. Stay alert and defend the Transmitter at all costs until reinforcements arrive.

Allied Objectives

1. Primary Objective: Destroy the Transmitter.
2. Secondary Objective: Protect the Armour and escort it until the front gate is destroyed.
3. Secondary Objective: Gain a foothold in the Front Bunker.
4. Secondary Objective: Set up a Command Post inside the sub pen.
5. Secondary Objective: Gain control of the Generator.
6. Secondary Objective: Access the Transmitter area.

Axis Objectives

1. Primary Objective: Stop the Allies from destroying the Transmitter.
2. Secondary Objective: Disable or obstruct the Allied Armour to prevent it destroying the front gate.
3. Secondary Objective: Prevent the Allies from gaining a foothold in the Front Bunker.
4. Secondary Objective: Set up a Command Post inside the sub pen.
5. Secondary Objective: Prevent the Allies from using the Generator.
6. Secondary Objective: Prevent the Allies from accessing the Transmitter area.
